When The Lights Go Out

When the lights go out,
And the applause stops,
When the hall is empty,
But the two of us.
One regretting the lie,
And the other regrets believing it.

When the sleepless eyes meet,
And the tired lips smile,
One regretting the lie,
And the other regrets believing it.

A casual nod to move on,
And a cold shrug to acknowledge it,
It was time to part,
With a lots to confess,
And no dates fixed for the next event,
There might not be another chance.
With a lot to confess,
It was indeed the time to part.

Lost looks and hesitant lips,
The stares seem to regret it all,
For one had lied,
And the other had believed it.
A hand on his arm,
For she knew no words would explain.
He took her hand in his,
And passionately kissed it.
No words will tell,
How they make each other complete.
The world is just an obstacle,
Making them feel guilty.

No more in public,
Not in presence of friends,
We promise to wait,
Till the lights go out.
Love is just for us, not the others,
No more guilty feelings, no more lies.
For, one regrets the lie,
While the other regrets believing it.

When the lights go out,
It’s time to kiss.
It’s time for love,
Only, when the lights go out.
